Coily hair summer

Coily hair can sometimes seem difficult to style, but let's call it character... And that character has a lot of advantages.

Coily hair summer

While it is, let's face it, complicated to tame, coily hair does have nice volume: with kinky or curly hair, there's no such thing as a flat or sad hairdo.

That said, you have to take special care of it in summer because, unlike us, our hair does not like seawater, chlorine from swimming pools, or sun and dryness, so before moving on to the styling phase, let's see how to take care of our beautiful hair.

The scalp, like the rest of our skin, tends to sweat more in summer. So, you have to clean it regularly, either with light shampoos or with co-washes (see our co-wash article). Before swimming or walking along the beach, your hair will appreciate being protected, however, it requires less intensive care than in winter. So, we’ll opt for plant masks alternating with oil baths that you can leave in for less time than in winter. Ideal for getting right back to enjoying the beach!

The same goes for leave-ins (see our article on leave-ins) and conditioners. To protect them from salt, chlorine and other residues, or with pre-poos (see our article), they will be your best allies. Hydrating and nourishing, they protect your hair and help in detangling. But if some days you feel them really thriving, let them live "au naturel", they are on vacation too after all!

Drink plenty of water and eat healthy. The idea here is to complement from the inside what you bring to your hair on the outside. As usual, drink plenty of pure water (at least 1.5 L), or even more because sweating evacuates more of it, and then, of course, fruits and vegetables every day, both for hydration and for the vitamins and minerals they contain.
